How to Draw a Chibi, Step by Step

April 29, 2010 in Chibis

draw chibis drawingHey everyone, I’d like to submit a short and sweet tutorial on the most basic of chibis. Here I present to you a tutorial on “how to draw a chibi step by step”. I decided to make this lesson because of how specific it is. Drawing chibis will improve your skills on how to draw more advanced human bodies. The more you practice drawing them, the better you’ll get at other cute things. Don’t get discouraged when you don’t get the results you expected. It takes time and patience to draw a simple chibi. Now, you’ll get to the point where you’re going to have to learn how to draw a chibi face. My small piece of advice would be to practice whenever you have the free time. Even the most complex chibi can be very simple with patience and confidence. Confidence is also key for drawing characters. Equipping yourself with this element will only make you draw a lot faster. Some people call it luck, but I call it confidence. When you draw a chibi face, make sure you give it a cute “meow” mouth. A good example is this smiley: =3. You might be familiar with that smiley, everyone uses it. The eyes have to be perfectly proportioned as well. Well folks, let’s move onto the tutorial.

Step 1. Red through the tips and hints on how to draw the perfect chibi. There’s a tip where it shows you the different sizes and shapes a super deformed character can have. Many people have different styles on how they draw theirs. The next tip will show you how many different face shapes and eyes they can have. There are tons of different styles to try out on your chibi character. My advice, go out and explore how other artists do it!

Step 2. This is going to be the very first drawing step where you’ll learn how to draw the chibi. Sketch out the basic frames for the bodies. There are three body shapes in this lesson. If you want an ultimately cute character, draw the body super small and stubby. I have to agree, stubby chubby chibis are the cutest! If you’re trying to aim for a taller chibi, I would go for the last or middle one. After you’ve drawn the guidelines, move onto the next step.

Step 3. Begin this step by sketching out the detailing for the start of the shoulders and facial features. Drawing the head and then the body will make things a lot easier.

How to Draw Chibi Edward, Step by Step

April 26, 2010 in Celebrities, Chibis

draw chibi edward drawingI so can’t wait for the new Twilight movie to come out this summer. The actual title of the movie is “Eclipse”. I saw the preview and it was totally cool! I thought I’d submit a lesson on how to draw one of the stars from the saga. His name is Edward and he’s hungry for your blood. I’ve seen the previous movies from the Twilight Saga and enjoyed them. I think the first one is the best if your looking for a lot of Edward screen time. Jacob has less screen time but gains most in New Moon.  Rob Pattinson did a great job playing the role of Edward, that he’d be the perfect cute chibi. Here I present to you a tutorial on “how to draw chibi edward step by step”. Most of my viewers deserve a cute treat such as this, I think you’ll enjoy it as much as I did. I’ll stop talking and get on with the tutorial now. Have fun!

Step 1. Draw the basic shapes for your chibi Edward. This means draw the circle and guidelines within that circle. After you’ve completed this, move onto the body’s guidelines. This only requires a few simple lines to draw.

Step 2. Begin this step by sketching the features around the face. This includes drawing the basic hairline and ears. Don’t forget to stay close to the guidelines when you start sketching out the face shape. This is very important, and should not be ignored.

Step 3. Add more detailing to the hair. Draw lightly on your paper when you add small indications of hair. I prefer drawing this very slowly. If you draw too fast, you’ll make your lines come out squiggly.

How to Draw Chibi Sora, Step by Step

April 25, 2010 in Chibis, Video Game

draw chibi sora drawingSo here I am again, with another adrenaline pumped tutorial. I’m pretty sure there’s lots of fans of the video game, “Kingdom Hearts”. Me and my friends used to play the game together at night all the time! It’s a video game mixed with Disney and random characters created by Tetsuya Nomura. The characters are pretty cool and remind me of the designs from “Final Fantasy 7″. Everyone knows who made the “Disney” characters, right? Walt Disney was their creator, and they are the most well known and familiar characters in the world. My favorite would have to be Donald Duck. Anyways, lets talk about the chibi Sora we will be drawing today! He’s in a world filled with “heartless”. Him and his two friends Riku and Kairi fight of the heartless who are controlled by Maleficent. Time to move onto the tutorial folks, I had enough talk here. Let’s go!

Step 1. Let’s start off by drawing the guidelines for Sora. Draw a large circle for the head, and the guidelines that will hold up the features of the face. Sketch out the lines and other shapes for the rest of the body. Once you’ve drawn all of this, move onwards to the next step.

Step 2. Next, draw the very hair of chibi Sora. When you draw his razor edged tips, draw the curves very slowly. This will ensure that you’re drawing the shape of the hair right.

Step 3. Here we will be sketching out the eyes and bangs for chibi Sora. Start with the eyes and mouth first, and then progress to the bangs. The reason I say this is because if you draw the hair first, the eyes will overlap the hair. Drawing the eyes will enable you to erase the hair tips that cover the eyes first.

How to Draw Chibi Master Chief, Step by Step

April 25, 2010 in Chibis, Video Game

draw chibi master chief drawingHow exciting was that last lesson? I had so much fun writing and showing you how to draw chib Yoda. Right now at this minute as I type, I want to submit another fun filled lesson on “how to draw chibi Master Chief step by step”. This character from Halo came out very nice. There’s a ton load of details in this chibi so it might be an intermediate tutorial for some beginners. A bit of advice would be to start off with the easiest part first and then draw the harder pieces. I recommend drawing top to bottom. Basically, draw the head first and sketch out the rest of the body. Sketch very slowly so you won’t overpower yourself. Has anyone played the Halo game? I remember my friend buying an Xbox 360 with one of the Halo games. I’m not totally sure which game it was he bought, but it looked really fun. There’s a lot of action and monsters. Imagine a chibi Halo fighting monsters with oversized weaponry? I would probably laugh so hard that my sides would tear. Anyways, I won’t keep you waiting, so let’s move on!

Step 1. Start with the basics, this is a very important part of the tutorial because of the complex designs on the chibi. Always start with the head and make sure you get those guidelines drawn out. This should be an easy task. The guidelines practically make this tutorial a whole lot easier. Don’t forget to sketch out the body’s guidelines. Moving on!

Step 2. This is where you’ll be able to sketch out more details for your chibi Master Chief. Beginning with the helmet shield is an ideal place to start because it’s so basic. Make sure you have a ruler near by, drawing the straight edges without a ruler will be a struggling task.

Step 3. Next, we will start sketching out more detailing in the head. This will include drawing the outside of the helmet. I think this is all there is in the helmet, so get moving onto the next step!

This lesson is going to be the easiest to sketch down quickly so you can show all your friends. When you draw this character, you will want to know exactly where to put each line, and how to make a Yoda character seem very cute and irresistible. It could be a challenge for first time artists that want to improve quickly. My advice to you is that you need to practice the most easiest lesson, like this one, and then work your way up to the harder materials. So without further ado, let’s move onto the tutorial!

Step 1. Draw the basics which are the guidelines. The guidelines in this tutorial are very easy to jot down. Make sure you have a tool, like the compass, to make your circles perfect. You may think that drawing perfect circles is a waste of time, but the truth is they have amazing outcomes. After you’ve drawn your guidelines, move onto the next step.

Step 2. Sketch some of the basic details for your Yoda. This will include the face shape and the bottoms of the ears. After you do this it’s finally time to move onto the next step.

Step 3.Start sketching the details for his face. Lightly draw the lids for the eyes, nose, and the top of the head. To avoid messing up with this, make sure you keep within the guidelines. If you fail to do this, then your drawing will not have a satisfying outcome.
