December 15, 2010 in Chibis

How about another chibi lesson for today, this time supporting a very cute princess from Disney films. In this popular lesson supplied by DragoArt.com, we will be learning “how to draw chibi Ariel“, step by step. This is probably one of the cutest chibi Princesses I’ve ever seen, mainly because it’s such an adorable reincarnation of Ariel from the Little Mermaid. The artist did a fascinating job on the anatomy as well as the background to match the entire composition together. I believe her/his name is Jedec, a very good chibi artist besides the others on the website. Anyways, take a good observation from this tutorial on “how to draw chibi Ariel from the Little Mermaid“! Thanks so much for dropping by here at Drawchibi.com, I hope these lessons give you a good grasp on “how to draw chibis“!

Step 1. Start with the basic guidelines to get the fundamentals of the body in order. It will take you some patience to draw these guides in order to create the pretty cute figure for chibi Ariel. Make sure you use a different colored pencil to draw the guides so you’ll know what to erase afterwards.

Step 2. Then, draw the large eyes for her so you can get a general idea on how she will shape up! Take your time people!

Step 3. Sketch out the body as this is where the real chibiness will show through. The body is slightly curvy to keep a nice essence of a figure and chibi.

Here I have a few nifty links that guides you on drawing these emotions. Also, there is some cool tips and tricks that will aid you to draw better. I’ve been spending a lot of time practicing the way of the anime and manga world. Besides, did you know that a manga and anime is basically the same thing? A “Manga” is a mere comic book and the term “Anime” is the encoded version of “animation”. I’ve always been knowing that, thought I’d share it with all of you good folks of the site. Anywho, how about the lesson? Here I give you a few short preview thumbnails on what the lessons look like (from a birds eye view):

Tip 1. Always plan the emotion you want your chibi character to be set with. In these cases, there are several emotions that you can get some ideas from. My little tip to you is to start off by drawing the basic shapes of the type of chibi head you want.

Tip 2. Begin defining the facial expression you desire. A few chibi expressions are a little difficult to achieve because of them seeming so similar to other expressions. For instance, a super happy emotion may also seem like a crying emotion.

So there you have a few images and tips that show you a little preview on what you’ll be learning to draw. Take it from the pros, they surely know what they’re talking about, especially Mark Crilley. Be sure to check out sir Mark’s books out like Miki Falls and the new manga series Brody’s Ghost. Really good stuff folks! If you have any suggestions for DrawChibi.com, leave a nice ol’ reply at drawchibi@yahoo(dot)com.

How to Draw Chibi Kiba, Step by Step

September 4, 2010 in Chibis, Naruto

Hey guys, I want to submit a quick and easy lesson based on a very popular Naruto character. From the feature image, you’ll find that it’s a character who has a canine appearance about him. Honestly, he reminds me a lot like the character Inuyasha because of the fangs and slit eyes. These features on a character is super awesome and cool that it’s hard to resist them! I know I may sound a little crazy, but hey, you gotta love this tutorial on “how to draw chibi Kiba”, step by step. Kiba is basically a minor character in the popular anime Naruto, yet he has become a raved character. I’ve never really noticed him until other artists have been requesting tutorials to “draw Kiba”. He has a pet that accompanies him whom goes by the name of Akamaru. Maybe later on in my searching schedule, I might do a tutorial on “how to draw chibi Akamaru”, step by step. Well, enough with the blab, let’s move onward to the lesson!

Step 1. Begin with the very basic guidelines for the chibi Kiba. This means sketching out a large circle that is semi-perfect. Add some guidelines within that circle and work your way down to the rest of the body. Drawing this first is very important when spanning out the whole body of the character.

Step 2. Draw the base of head so you can start drawing inner facial details. Once you’ve drawn out the face shape for chibi Kiba, work on the hair. Just so you know, this is the version of Kiba in his Shippuden form, which bares his hair and most of his facial details. Make sure you remind yourself that he has 2 markings that run down both sides of his cheeks.

Step 3. Work on basic detailing of the inner face eyes, village symbol headband, mouth, markings). Once you’ve completed this, move onto the next step. See how learning to “draw Kiba chibi” can be so easy?

How to Draw Chibi Sasuke, step by step

August 17, 2010 in Chibis, Naruto

Hey guys, sorry for missing out on updating “DrawChibi”. I’ve been very busy with drawing tutorials lately and kinda got caught up with it. Today I’ll be submitting a few lessons on some adorable chibis. This lesson I’d like to feature is on ”how to draw chibi Sasuke” . The pose is totally amazing and so is the line art. The line work is basically a sketch job using a graphics program called “Adobe Photoshop”. I’ll update the poll with some more cool answers for you artists to vote on. To ”draw chibi Sasuke”, you’ll want to round off the head proportions. This can be achievable by drawing the guidelines correctly. The body soon comes after completing the head and afterwords, you’ll have yourself a nice looking Sasuke chibi. If you have a bit of a trouble with the tutorial, try taking a few steps back and browse through the site for simple lessons on how to draw chibis. I have another partner lesson that features a tutorial to draw chibi Naruto. If you master this lesson, you can shortly pair Sasuke up with a chibi Naruto as well. Overall, you’ll have yourself a cool drawing on ” chibi Naruto and Sasuke”. If you really think about it, having them paired up in the poses they’re set in now, will create the ultimate artwork.

Step 1. Draw the guidelines for your chibi. By getting the pose of the body right with wireframes, you’ll be set to drawing the rest of the body pretty swell. I would recommend using a ruler and compass to create perfect and smooth lines. Use a blue pencil to set your guidelines.

Step 2. Start off by drawing the basic facial lines for your Sasuke chibi. I prefer drawing the eyebrows first and then the collar cuff. Note: only the back of his shirt has this large collar.

Step 3. Here’s the fun part of this tutorial. Here you’ll have to start shaping up the face of our chibi. This is entirely important because this is what shows through the chibitized version of Sasuke Uchiha. I had a lot of fun drawing this part since it’s so much fun making this in a smaller – adorable form. Take your time, it’s easy to make mistakes!

How to Draw Chibi Bleach, Step by Step

May 21, 2010 in Bleach, Chibis

Bleach used to be one of my favorite animes of all time. I remember wanted to cosplay as Rukia but decided not to because I couldn’t afford it. This year I got into the Naruto anime but that favoritism came to pass. Gaara was one of my favorite characters from that anime. Anyways, let’s talk more about this tutorial! Today in this lesson you’ll learn “how to draw chibi Bleach step by step”. There’s a lot of great benefits from this tutorial. If you’re not satisfied with this tutorial, checkout our chibi Bleach category at the right side or below the banner. In this tutorial you’ll be learning how to draw chibi Ichigo and Orihime. They’re both close friends in the anime and manga. Orihime grows feelings for Ichigo and becomes attached to him. Further into the manga, they become separated due to the new rivals…the Espada. Well now folks, enjoy the tutorial and happy drawing!

Step 1. Sketch the basic guidelines for your chibis. This means sketching out the two circles that are side by side and the dividing line between both of the circles. These lines will help structure the pose and facial details.

Step 2. Start this step by drawing the eyes, face shape, and the mouths. If you notice I added the little line above the lips. The actual anime and manga has this little detail.

Step 3. Begin with drawing the ridge of the hair. For Ichigo, sketch the bangs that overlay his eyebrows. It’s important to pay attention to the flow of his hair. Artists get this feature wrong sometimes. For chibi Orihime, add the split bangs that are held back by the pins. Once you’ve done this, move onwards.

How to Draw Chibi Kyuubi, Step by Step

May 6, 2010 in Chibis, Naruto

Well, I decided to post another great chibi tutorial today on an awesome demon fox spirit from Naruto. Here in this very tutorial, you’ll be learning “how to draw chibi Kyuubi step by step”. I thought by making this tutorial would be a great addition to the Naruto universe. I already have a chibi Naruto, so why not post a chibi Kyuubi and Sasuke? I think I’ll post Sasuke later on. If you really think about it, who would imagine to draw Kyuubi in chibi form? I had the idea stuck in my head for a while now, so I sketched it down and posted it. Sketching this down on paper is much better because you get the actual feel of the form and shapes. You also get a lot more done then digital. The Kyuubi we will be drawing has only six visible tails. The others are hidden behind him. Make sure you get the little details on the tails so you don’t have to worry about them later. Onwards to the tutorial now!

Step 1. Sketch out the basic shapes for the chibi Kyuubi. This is important because later on it will help you draw other essential details out with ease. Once you’ve done that, move onwards.

Step 2. Draw a few more details for the chibi. By doing this you’ll make the lines around the area easier to draw.

Step 3. Sketch the face shape. This is very important! It will allow you to draw the body a lot faster. After you’ve done all this, move onto the next step.

How to Draw Chibi AVATAR, Step by Step

May 3, 2010 in Chibis

Hey I thought I would submit another awesome lesson on a great character from an awesome movie. The movie is called AVATAR and it’s one of the most popular movies released to home video and theaters. I think that most of us have seen the movie and totally enjoyed it. Anyways, the movie is about a man named Jake Sulley, who goes on a trip to an alien world called Pandora. Jake has to use an avatar body of one of the aliens that live in the world, the Na’vi. His mission in the beginning was to gain the Na’vi’s trust and work out a deal to move away from the great tree that they reside in. I really hope you’ll enjoy this lesson on “how to draw AVATAR step by step”. The na’vi that you’ll be drawing in this tutorial is Neytiri. I had a lot of fun drawing each and every detail. I think she came out pretty cute!

Step 1. Begin this step by sketching out an extremely basic shapes. Draw a large circle for her head and a few guidelines for the body. This will make drawing Neytiri much easier.

Step 2. Sketch out some detailing of her face and face shape. When you draw this part of her face, you will want to start off with the eyes first. Drawing the eyes can be a lot of relief when you draw the face shape.

Step 3. Add in some extra details to her face. This will include sketching out the rest of the eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. Once you’ve finished this off, move on.

How to Draw Chibi Edward Elric, Step by Step

April 30, 2010 in Chibis

Here’s a tutorial on “how to draw chibi Edward Elric step by step” , I noticed I haven’t posted a tutorial on this character yet so I decided I’d post it today. My tutorial will definitely help you all out on how to draw chibi Full Metal Alchemist characters. I thought it would be a great lesson to teach all of you avid learners. The best way to draw these chibi characters would be to start off with the head and then the body. The head should always be bigger then the body. It’s sort of like drawing a baby. The baby’s eyes are closer to each other, the nose is pushed down more to the lips, and the lips are pulled down to the chin. An easier way to draw the body would be to have the arms fingerless, the legs slimmer and very stubby. If you understand the concept of these tips, you’re on your way to drawing the perfect chibi! Anyways, I think I’ll be posting a tutorial on “how to draw chibi Al step by step“.

Step 1. Drawing the body and face guidelines should always be priority. This part is basically the easiest part of the tutorial. I recommend drawing a tepee shape for the body and a basic round circle for the head.

Step 2. Start sketching the face shape for Edward Elric. Then draw the eye lids for his face as well. This is the easiest part to start off with, especially in chibis.

Step 3. Finish off some other details for the face. This means sketching out the mouth and the rest of the bottom eyes. Don’t forget to add the super thing blonde eyebrows! I hope you’ll have fun on drawing this chibi!

How to Draw a Chibi, Step by Step

April 29, 2010 in Chibis

draw chibis drawingHey everyone, I’d like to submit a short and sweet tutorial on the most basic of chibis. Here I present to you a tutorial on “how to draw a chibi step by step”. I decided to make this lesson because of how specific it is. Drawing chibis will improve your skills on how to draw more advanced human bodies. The more you practice drawing them, the better you’ll get at other cute things. Don’t get discouraged when you don’t get the results you expected. It takes time and patience to draw a simple chibi. Now, you’ll get to the point where you’re going to have to learn how to draw a chibi face. My small piece of advice would be to practice whenever you have the free time. Even the most complex chibi can be very simple with patience and confidence. Confidence is also key for drawing characters. Equipping yourself with this element will only make you draw a lot faster. Some people call it luck, but I call it confidence. When you draw a chibi face, make sure you give it a cute “meow” mouth. A good example is this smiley: =3. You might be familiar with that smiley, everyone uses it. The eyes have to be perfectly proportioned as well. Well folks, let’s move onto the tutorial.

Step 1. Red through the tips and hints on how to draw the perfect chibi. There’s a tip where it shows you the different sizes and shapes a super deformed character can have. Many people have different styles on how they draw theirs. The next tip will show you how many different face shapes and eyes they can have. There are tons of different styles to try out on your chibi character. My advice, go out and explore how other artists do it!

Step 2. This is going to be the very first drawing step where you’ll learn how to draw the chibi. Sketch out the basic frames for the bodies. There are three body shapes in this lesson. If you want an ultimately cute character, draw the body super small and stubby. I have to agree, stubby chubby chibis are the cutest! If you’re trying to aim for a taller chibi, I would go for the last or middle one. After you’ve drawn the guidelines, move onto the next step.

Step 3. Begin this step by sketching out the detailing for the start of the shoulders and facial features. Drawing the head and then the body will make things a lot easier.

How to Draw Chibi Master Chief, Step by Step

April 25, 2010 in Chibis, Video Game

draw chibi master chief drawingHow exciting was that last lesson? I had so much fun writing and showing you how to draw chib Yoda. Right now at this minute as I type, I want to submit another fun filled lesson on “how to draw chibi Master Chief step by step”. This character from Halo came out very nice. There’s a ton load of details in this chibi so it might be an intermediate tutorial for some beginners. A bit of advice would be to start off with the easiest part first and then draw the harder pieces. I recommend drawing top to bottom. Basically, draw the head first and sketch out the rest of the body. Sketch very slowly so you won’t overpower yourself. Has anyone played the Halo game? I remember my friend buying an Xbox 360 with one of the Halo games. I’m not totally sure which game it was he bought, but it looked really fun. There’s a lot of action and monsters. Imagine a chibi Halo fighting monsters with oversized weaponry? I would probably laugh so hard that my sides would tear. Anyways, I won’t keep you waiting, so let’s move on!

Step 1. Start with the basics, this is a very important part of the tutorial because of the complex designs on the chibi. Always start with the head and make sure you get those guidelines drawn out. This should be an easy task. The guidelines practically make this tutorial a whole lot easier. Don’t forget to sketch out the body’s guidelines. Moving on!

Step 2. This is where you’ll be able to sketch out more details for your chibi Master Chief. Beginning with the helmet shield is an ideal place to start because it’s so basic. Make sure you have a ruler near by, drawing the straight edges without a ruler will be a struggling task.

Step 3. Next, we will start sketching out more detailing in the head. This will include drawing the outside of the helmet. I think this is all there is in the helmet, so get moving onto the next step!
